We are grateful to our many interns for their work on behalf of the Walt Whitman Birthplace Association. We are so happy to have hosted students interested in a wide variety of disciplines including Art History, Creative Writing, Education, Engineering, Film, Graphic Design, History, Humanities, Language Arts, Literature, Marketing and PR, Museum Studies, Photography, and Visual Art. Interns typically work on independent projects, and are guided by our Director, Curator, Curator Assistant, and Office Staff. Our interns have come across Long Island from many schools including Adelphi University, Stony Brook University, Oxford University, Fairfield University, Fashion Institute of Technology, Amherst College, Sarah Lawrence College, Suffolk Community College, Syosset High School, and Half Hollow Hills High School. We are creating a space in which to share their projects; however, many interns have also worked as tour guides and assisted “behind the scenes.” Their contributions have been indispensable to WWBA.
